Compare pressure-sensitive floor mats for the defined presence-detection task. Verify the exact mat and evaluation controller, active area and edge coverage, activation/load limits, environmental conditions and complete safety-function evidence before specifying a guarded area.

A mat must not be assumed suitable for forklift wheel loads or treated as a complete certified system without its documented controller and validated installation.
How to Select a Pressure-Sensitive Safety Mat System
The JT14 model and size table covers the mat itself. A complete floor-area safeguarding proposal also needs the controller and installation details below.
- Coverage: provide a scaled layout of the hazard, approach paths, active mat area and non-sensing edges. Overall mat size is not the same as effective detection area.
- Environment and loads: identify pedestrian use, trolleys or wheel loads separately, plus oil, cleaning chemicals and temperature. Do not infer vehicle-load suitability from a static pressure figure.
- Evaluation controller: match the four-wire mat circuit and documented fault monitoring to the actual controller. The factory mat wiring resource illustrates a DA31 configuration; verify the supplied configuration before installation.
- Validation: include stopping performance, reset location, access around the mat, cable protection and the required test procedure in the machine risk assessment.
