Economy M4/M5/M6 Inductive Proximity Switch

The smallest, lowest-cost tier of the DAIDISIKE inductive range — for fixtures and jigs where an M8 barrel simply does not fit and every yuan per point counts.

  • ⌀4 mm smooth-barrel M4, threaded M5×0.5 and M6×0.75
  • Body lengths 25 / 30 / 35 mm — incl. short E2E4/E2E5 versions
  • 1.0 mm ±10% sensing distance across the whole series
  • NPN or PNP, NO or NC (suffix-coded, easy to cross-reference)
  • Nickel-plated brass body; whole series flush-mountable

Economy vs Standard vs High-Grade Miniature Sensors

DAIDISIKE offers three miniature tiers, and choosing between them is mostly a budget-versus-options decision. The M3/M4 ultra-small and M5/M6 standard pages cover the regular lines; the high-grade threaded M4–M6 series adds multiple sensing-distance grades from 0.6 to 1.5 mm with a published wiring diagram. This economy line is the entry point: a single 1.0 mm grade, brass construction, and the 25 mm E2E4/E2E5 short bodies as the absolute lowest-cost option — aimed at OEMs fitting many identical detection points per machine.

The trade-off is choice, not sealing or supply: this line is documented at 10–30 V DC, IP67 and −25 to +70 °C like the higher tiers, but it gives you exactly one sensing grade per body instead of four. If your design needs a rated distance other than 1.0 mm, start one tier up.

These are general-purpose miniature sensors, not certified safety components — never use them as the sole protection for personnel.

Flush vs Non-Flush Mounting — Why It Matters at 1 mm

All bodies in this line share a single 1.0 mm ±10% sensing grade and flush (shielded) mounting. Supply is 3-wire DC 10–30 V with IP67 sealing and −25 to +70 °C operation, as printed for the M4 30 mm and the export-grade 25 mm bodies; the same figures are not printed for the JJ5A3 (M5 30 mm) and JJ6A3 (M6 35 mm) bodies, so confirm those two at order time.

Export-grade short-body M4 (25 mm, smooth barrel) and M5 (25 mm, threaded) economy proximity switch dimensions

Typical Applications

Tight fixture pockets

⌀4 mm barrel drops into jigs and tooling where even an M8 sensor cannot physically mount.

Cylinder end-of-stroke

Compact confirmation of actuator position beside small pneumatic cylinders.

Small-part presence

1.0 mm close-range detection of screws, pins and stamped parts in feeders and nests.

High-volume OEM builds

25 mm E2E4/E2E5 short bodies keep per-point cost down across dozens of identical stations.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does this economy M4/M5/M6 line differ from the standard DAIDISIKE M5/M6 and M3/M4 pages?

Three tiers exist in the miniature range. The standard M5/M6 and ultra-small M3/M4 series on this site are the regular product lines; the high-grade threaded M4–M6 series adds multiple sensing-distance grades (0.6–1.5 mm); and this economy line is the entry price point — one 1.0 mm sensing grade, brass body, with extra-short 25 mm E2E4/E2E5 versions for the tightest budgets. Same miniature footprint, simpler option list, lower cost per point.

What does the model suffix ZB / ZA / X / Y mean?

On the JJ4A3/JJ5A3/JJ6A3 bodies the factory chart lists ZB under the NPN column and ZA under the PNP column, with X = normally open (NO) and Y = normally closed (NC) — so JJ5A3-1-ZAX is the M5, PNP, normally-open version. The short E2E4/E2E5 bodies follow a different scheme: they are catalogued in the NPN column only, where ZBX is the normally-open and ZAX the normally-closed version. Ask the factory if you need a PNP short body.

What is the confirmed sensing distance?

Every model in this line — the 30 mm M4, the 25 mm E2E4 and E2E5 short bodies, the 30 mm M5 and the 35 mm M6 — is rated 1.0 mm ±10% on the factory selection chart. There is a single sensing grade across the series; if you need a different rated distance, the high-grade threaded M4–M6 line offers 0.6 to 1.5 mm.

Can these be mounted flush in metal?

Yes. The factory selection chart marks the whole line — M4 30 mm, E2E4, E2E5, M5 30 mm and M6 35 mm — as 齐平 (flush/shielded), so the sensing face can sit level with surrounding metal without false triggering.

What supply voltage do they need?

10–30 V DC, 3-wire, per the factory specification table covering the M4 30 mm and the export-grade 25 mm bodies. That table also lists IP67 sealing, −25 °C to +70 °C operation, 150 mA maximum load current with a 180 mA overload trip, built-in short-circuit protection, a nickel-plated brass housing and a 2 m cable as standard. The equivalent figures for the JJ5A3 (M5 30 mm) and JJ6A3 (M6 35 mm) bodies are not printed in the chart — confirm those two with the factory.

Are these safety-rated for guard door interlocks?

No. They are plain presence/position sensors with no IEC 61496 / ISO 13849 certification, so they must not be used alone for personnel protection. They can feed a door open/closed status signal to a controller, but guarding duty needs a certified safety switch or light curtain.

How do I get pricing, samples and lead time for an OEM volume?

Quote requests go through the contact page — list the model codes (e.g. JJ6A3-1-ZBX × 500) and target cable length. The short E2E4/E2E5 bodies are the lowest-cost option and are usually the right pick for high-volume builds where the extra body length and a PNP option are not needed.
