How the FB Build-to-Order Program Works

Plants that handle solvents, fuel gas or fine combustible dust often cannot install a standard aluminium-profile light curtain at the point of operation — yet the machine still needs finger, hand or body guarding. The FB program solves this without forcing you onto unfamiliar optics: you name the DAIDISIKE curtain currently on (or specified for) the machine, and we fabricate a welded-steel explosion-proof enclosure around that same sensing core.

The enclosure is engineered to the Chinese explosive-atmosphere equipment standard GB3836-2010, carrying a design marking of Ex nR IIC T6 Gc / Ex tb IIIC T80°C. Steel plate is welded, shot-blasted and electrostatically powder-coated in a dedicated two-tone finish; the sealing rubber is the oil- and corrosion-resistant national-standard RTY-III type. Wiring leaves each column through a G1/2 (NPT1/2, DN15) explosion-proof gland sized for 7–10 mm cable, and a 2 m Ex flexible conduit is packed with every unit for the run back to the safe-area panel.

Because the finished unit is named after your existing curtain — FB-DQA08-200-1400 is an FB build around a DQA 8-beam, 200 mm-pitch, 1400 mm-class configuration — procurement paperwork, installation drawings and spare-parts planning all line up with what your maintenance team already documents.

Specifying Your FB Unit — 4 Steps

  1. Identify the base curtain. Send the series, beam count, beam pitch and protective height of the curtain on your machine (label photo is fine) — this fixes the optics and the FB model code.
  2. Declare the classified area in writing. Zone, gas/dust group and temperature class let us check the Ex nR IIC T6 Gc / Ex tb IIIC T80°C design marking against your local requirements; where your jurisdiction requires ATEX or IECEx rather than GB3836, say so before ordering.
  3. Plan the wiring run. The standard 2 m Ex flexible conduit covers most exits to a nearby junction point; specify longer routing at order time.
  4. Close the safety loop. In the safe-area panel, land the curtain outputs on a DQSRN or DA31 safety relay module so the stop function is carried by forcibly guided contacts with feedback monitoring.

Each FB unit is fabricated around the exact curtain you already run — series, beam count, beam pitch and protective height all vary — so the steel enclosure is welded, machined and finished to order. There is no generic off-the-shelf FB housing; the quotation covers your specific configuration and its fabrication lead time.

How do I read or build an FB model code?

Take your existing DAIDISIKE curtain designation and prefix it with FB-. For instance FB-DQA08-200-1400 describes an explosion-proof build around a DQA curtain with 8 beams at 200 mm pitch in a 1400 mm-class housing. If you send us the label data from the curtain on your machine, we generate the matching FB code for you.

Which DAIDISIKE curtain families can be fitted into the Ex enclosure?

The welded enclosure has been produced around the DQA, DQB, DQBK, DQC, DQE, DQL, DQM, DQQ, DQT and DQZ through-beam series. If your site runs one of these, the same optical performance you already know is retained inside the explosion-proof build.
