The JER series is DAIDISIKE's economy safety light curtain — a slim 29.3 × 29.3 mm square aluminum body that drops straight into presses, robotic cells, packaging lines and end-of-arm tool guards without redesigning brackets.

Model rule: JER{K}-{N}{H}NA | H = (N − 1) × K | L = P + H + J + 24
H is the protection height — the distance from the first beam to the last beam, which is what ISO 13855 uses when you calculate the minimum safety distance. It is one beam pitch less than the beam count multiplied by the pitch. L is the physical screen height including the dead zones and end caps.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between JER and DQS?
JER is an economy series with a 29.3 mm slim body and ≤ 15 ms response, ideal for cost-sensitive press and packaging lines. DQS adds dual-channel OSSD and is designed to support PL e / Cat.4 safety chains (when integrated with a certified safety relay or safety PLC) for high-risk hydraulic and mechanical presses.
How do I calculate the total length L?
L = P + H + J + 24, where H = (N − 1) × K is the protection height, P and J are the top / bottom dead zones (they depend on K), and 24 mm covers the two 12 mm end caps.
Note the − 1: the protected zone runs from the first beam to the last beam, so a 4-beam curtain on a 40 mm pitch protects 120 mm, not 160 mm. Always use H — not the screen height L — when you calculate the ISO 13855 minimum safety distance, otherwise the guarded zone is smaller than your calculation assumes.
Is the JER suitable for outdoor installation?
JER offers IP65 protection — fine for damp factory floors and washdown areas, but for direct outdoor or rain exposure the DQR IP68 series is the better choice.
Can I get longer cables or M12 connectors?
Yes. Standard cable is 3 m flying-lead; M12 5-pin / 8-pin connector versions and cables up to 30 m are available on request.
