Product Highlights
  • High resolution: Minimum beam spacing of 10mm, supporting fine detection (Resolution), suitable for finger protection (Finger Protection).
  • High protection rating: IP65, dust-tight and water-jet resistant, suitable for normal industrial environments.
  • Fast response: response time ≤ 15 ms, which shortens the ISO 13855 safety distance you can mount the operator at.
  • Solid-state output: transistor outputs with PNP/NPN and NO/NC selection (order suffix A = PNP NO, B = PNP NC, C = NPN NO, D = NPN NC); no mechanical wear, long lifespan. Wiring by 4-core, 5-core or 6-core cable.
  • Widest resolution span in the range: eight beam pitches from 10 mm finger protection to 200 mm area presence, in protective heights from 50 mm to 3800 mm.
  • Multi-beam configuration: 4–32 beams; above 32 beams the DQCE series is the catalogue's designated alternative.
  • Full accessory set: DQCA-01 (option), DQCA-02 (standard), DQCA-03 (option), DQCA-04 (standard), DQCA-05 (standard) mounting brackets.

Data normalized from the provided manual pages; if differences exist, the official datasheet/warranty documents prevail.

Typical Applications

  • Presses / shears / press brakes: 10–30 mm resolutions suit finger and hand protection; the ≤15 ms response enables a shorter safety distance.
  • Assembly fixtures & robot periphery: finger/palm detection with interlocked safety loop; easy maintenance.
  • Packaging / logistics: 40–200 mm for aisle and presence detection.
  • General machinery: integrate with a safety relay/PLC for stop, interlock and EDM monitoring.

Safety distance reference (ISO 13855): S = K × T + C, where T is machine stopping time.

Installation Method

Determine the installation method: Side installation method (This item is sent by default), Two-end installation method, Tubular installation method.

Finger protection Spacing 10mm, Palm protection Spacing 20mm, Arm or body protection Spacing 40mm.

The DQC series safety light curtains can be used with the DQCA-01 (option), DQCA-02 (standard), DQCA-03 (option), DQCA-04 (standard) and DQCA-05 (standard) mounting accessories.

Mutual shooting distance: It is suggested that you inform us of the actual range to achieve a better detection effect.

Protection height: The distance between the highest light spot and the lowest light spot is the range of the area that can be sensed on the grating.

Working Principle

The working principle of the DQC series safety light curtain is based on through-beam photoelectric sensing technology, using infrared beams to create a virtual protective barrier. The specific process is as follows:

  1. Beam Emission and Reception: The emitter emits modulated infrared beams, and the receiver detects light intensity.
  2. Synchronization Mechanism: Optical synchronization to ensure alignment.
  3. Detection of Interruption: Object interrupts beam, triggering alarm.
  4. Signal Processing: MCU processes, OSSD outputs OFF to stop machine.
  5. Recovery: Restart interlock for recovery.
  6. Anti-Interference: Filters to filter interference.

Frequently Asked Questions

What resolution should I choose for finger, hand or body protection?

Pick by the smallest body part that can reach the hazard: 10–14 mm for finger protection, 20–30 mm for hand/palm protection, and 40 mm or larger for arm or body/area guarding. The DQC offers 10/14/20/25/30/40/80/200 mm, so one series covers presses, robot cells and perimeter zones.

What safety type / performance level does the DQC carry?

The DQC is a through-beam opto-electronic protective device (AOPD) — a product category designed with reference to IEC 61496 and to the machinery-safety standards ISO 13849 / ISO 13855. DAIDISIKE has not published a type classification (Type 2 / Type 4) or a performance level for the DQC series, so none is claimed here. Request the current test documentation from the factory before specifying the DQC into a rated safety function; where a documented Type 4 / PL e / SIL 3 device is required, use the DQT4 series, which is catalogued with that rating.

Can the DQC replace an Omron F3SG-SR, SICK or Keyence safety light curtain?

In most cases yes, mechanically — the DQC covers the common resolutions (10/14/20/25/30/40/80/200 mm) with a 0.3–3 m standard detection distance (0.3–6 m on request) and selectable PNP/NPN transistor outputs, so it drops into the same safety loop. Confirm mounting length and resolution against the unit being replaced, re-verify the safety distance per ISO 13855, and where the original unit carried a certified Type/PL rating confirm the equivalent documentation with the factory. See our Omron F3SG-SR and Keyence/SICK comparison guides.

How do I wire the DQC outputs to a PLC or safety relay?

The DQC uses transistor outputs ordered by model suffix: A = PNP NO, B = PNP NC, C = NPN NO, D = NPN NC. Wiring is by 4-core, 5-core or 6-core cable. Feed the safety outputs into a dual-channel safety relay or safety PLC input and route the EDM/feedback loop through the relay's forcibly-guided contacts so a welded contact is detected on restart. Confirm dual-channel OSSD and EDM availability for your build with the factory — the catalogue and the older sites describe the output architecture inconsistently. NPN/PNP and Siemens/Mitsubishi wiring examples are linked below.

How do I calculate the minimum safety distance for the DQC?

Use ISO 13855: S = K × T + C, where K = 2000 mm/s (hand-speed constant), T is the machine stop time plus curtain response (≤15 ms for the DQC), and C is the intrusion factor derived from the resolution. Our ISO 13855 calculator computes it for you.

What detection distance and response time does the DQC have?

The DQC has a standard detection distance of 0.3–3 m, extendable to 0.3–6 m as a custom build, and a response time of ≤15 ms. The housing is rated IP65 (dust-tight, water-jet resistant). Supply is DC 12/24 V, or AC 110–220 V with a controller.
