1. Unboxing

The complete set includes: emitter, receiver, data cables, mounting brackets and screws, and the user manual.

2. Assemble the Receiver Side

  • Take the bracket out of the packing carton and separate the receiver mounting bracket.
  • Using a suitable hex key, loosen the four receiver fixing screws. (Note: the two fixing bars/blocks at the bottom must not fall off.)
  • Remove the receiver. Slide the tail-end T-slot of the housing in from the cross-arm side of the bracket, align with the fixing bars at the base, and insert to the center position.
  • Tighten the four receiver fixing screws with a wrench.

3. Assemble the Emitter Side

  • Take out the emitter mounting bracket on the other side and, using the same hex key, loosen the four emitter fixing screws. (Note: the two fixing bars/blocks at the bottom must not fall off.)
  • Loosen the upper fine-adjustment screw on the emitter bracket with a suitable hex key.
  • Loosen the left and right fine-adjustment screws with a suitable hex key.
  • Remove the emitter. Slide the tail-end T-slot in from the cross-arm side of the bracket, align with the fixing bars at the base, and insert to the center position.
  • Tighten the four emitter fixing screws with a wrench.

4. Mounting & Wiring

  • Take one bracket. Find a suitable mounting location on the press brake, mark the position with a marker, then drill and fasten.
  • If there is not enough room on the press brake to mount the bracket, you may use the method shown on the right to fasten it.
  • After both brackets are fastened, take out the data cables. Fix the 9-pin aviation connector to the emitter and the 15-pin aviation connector to the receiver. Route both cables into the press brake electrical cabinet.

5. Coarse Alignment

  • Using a suitable hex key, loosen the five screws on the vertical arm of the bracket (three in front and two at the back). Move the E1 laser beam vertically to a position 3 mm below the press brake blade edge, then tighten the screws.
  • Loosen the two fixing screws on the cross arm of the bracket. Move the E1 laser beam laterally to the centerline of the press brake blade opening, then tighten the screws.

6. Fine Alignment

  • If the laser beam is lower than the receiving hole, adjust the upper fine-adjustment screw with a suitable hex key.
  • If the beam is to the right of the receiving hole, adjust the right fine-adjustment screw.
  • If the beam is to the left of the receiving hole, adjust the left fine-adjustment screw.

7. Record the Slider Position

After the protector is properly adjusted, use the pointer block to record the bracket’s vertical position, so that after changing the die the bracket can be quickly adjusted back to the correct position.

Record the bracket's vertical position with the pointer block (Figure [5])

Emitter & Receiver — Illustration When Test Is Normal

The following indicates the condition when the emitter and receiver are in a normal test state.
